NMDC launches ‘Transformation and Innovation’ vertical to drive technological advancement

The unique vertical will be in charge of managing tendering procedures.

NMDC Limited has launched the ‘Transformation and Innovation’ vertical to support its Vision 2030 of attaining 100 MnT manufacturing capacity. Six executives will make up the new department, with the Chief General Manager (CGM) serving as its head and reporting directly to the Chairman/Managing Director (CMD) and upper management. This group will focus on leading and implementing key change initiatives that enhance the company’s position, fosters creativity, & ensures adaptability within an unstable market environment.

The unique vertical will be in charge of managing tendering procedures, coming up with new plans, and keeping an eye on project completion. Between Rs 8,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore will be invested in the projects that would be covered over the next three to five years. The department will address current issues and help NMDC manage the changing mining sector ecology, according to Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), NMDC.

The department will work towards reinventing the concept of NMDC in the context of the industry and the development of the nation through the implementation of technology such as RopeCon Conveyor System, automated sampling systems, in-pit crushing & conveying systems, and sandwich belt conveyors. As the new department will aim to realise such strategic and ambitious goals and objectives, it will not only equip NMDC with capabilities to adapt to the future but also create it.
