Zoho’s founder, Sridhar Vembu, unveils Karuvi, a groundbreaking venture into power tools. A select team of Zoho engineers has meticulously crafted a cutting-edge line-up of power tools, primed for mass production. This move marks Zoho’s bold expansion from software to manufacturing.
Vembu, in an announcement on Wednesday, revealed the imminent commercial launch of Karuvi. Emphasising its potential to generate rural employment, he shared his inspiration behind the venture. The journey began when a Zoho customer, Abdul Gafoor, presented a compelling case during a visit, urging Zoho to venture into manufacturing. Undeterred by their initial unfamiliarity with the domain, Vembu and his team embraced the challenge, eventually growing into a ten-member strong unit.
The genesis of Karuvi embodies innovation and collaboration, with Vembu’s long-standing ambition to enter manufacturing now materialising. Backed by industry projections indicating a robust growth trajectory for power tools in India, Karuvi emerges as a formidable contender in a sector dominated by global giants.
With Karuvi poised to revolutionise the power tools market, Zoho continues to spearhead innovation, transcending boundaries and reshaping industries.
