Volvo calls the EX60 “born electric”, marking a key step in its full electrification plan.

Volvo has confirmed that its next big launch, the fully electric EX60, will make its global debut on 21 January 2026 through a livestream from Stockholm. The brand promises a groundbreaking user experience and the longest electric range ever offered in a Volvo. Is Volvo preparing its most advanced EV yet?

A new era with a born-electric platform

The EX60 will be the first model built on Volvo’s latest technology base, designed from the ground up as a pure electric vehicle. Volvo says it will deliver more range than any of its previous EV models while redefining user interaction with a new digital experience.

The company describes the EX60 as “born electric”, highlighting its purpose-built design and its role as a milestone in Volvo’s push towards full electrification.

Strengthening leadership in the premium EV SUV market

Volvo is already a key player in the premium mid-size SUV market, and the EX60 will be its first fully electric offering in this category. The brand expects the new model to become a cornerstone in its lineup and reinforce its transition towards a fully electric portfolio.

Production of the EX60 will take place at Volvo’s Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, Sweden, with manufacturing scheduled to start in the first half of 2026.

Countdown to the global reveal

Volvo has planned a global reveal of the EX60 that will be broadcast live from Stockholm. As electric SUV competition grows, the new model could play a key role for the company. More information is expected soon, with the official launch set for 21 January 2026.
