Mahindra has announced that Venkat Srinivas will take over as the new head of Business at Mahindra Trucks & Buses and Construction Equipment Business, effective November 1, 2024. This follows the resignation of Jalaj Gupta. Srinivas’ role as the vertical head of commercial vehicles (ICE and EV), will be taken by Manoj Varghese already serving as the Group Chief Platform head of Electric Vehicles.
Mahindra & Mahindra recognised Venkat’s key inputs in the successful performance of the CV Vertical at Automotive Technology & Product Development (ATPD) and in the Management Technical Bulletin Department (MTBD) and the Component Design & Manufacturing Management (CDMM). He has managed and overseen product planning for commercially less than 3.5 Tonne Gross Vehicle Weight Commercial Vehicles for both the domestic and International markets.
As for Varghese, he has spent considerable time in the Platform Delivery Department and Product Development in Mahindra, Renault Nissan and Tata Motors. He has previously launched the XUV 700 Programme as Chief Platform Head and is currently leading the development of e8 and e9 programmes in the EV vertical at ATPD
The Trucks and Bus division of Mahindra & Mahindra has become stronger recently, with top management committed to future growth and aiming for a larger volume and market share. The division has reported profits and generates about Rs 3,500 crore of annual revenues. The company has garnered about 3 per cent of the overall market and is to set its sights on an 8 per cent share in the coming years.
