Vedanta Aluminium marks National Startup Day with 60 tech collaborations driving Industry 4.0 innovation

The company is embracing Industry 4.0 technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Drone technology, Computer Vision, and Robotics, to drive operational excellence and foster innovation.

In commemoration of National Startup Day, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s leading aluminium producer, is spotlighting its collaborative initiatives with nearly 60 technology startups across 90 diverse projects. 

The company is embracing Industry 4.0 technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Drone technology, Computer Vision, and Robotics, to drive operational excellence and foster innovation.

To mark this occasion, the company hosted a knowledge-sharing session, inviting prominent startups to showcase successful outcomes and the impact of emerging technologies on critical operations such as smelters, alumina refinery, power plants, mines, material handling, supply chain, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) practices.

This initiative, which aligns with the ‘Startup India’ and ‘Make in India’ ideologies, is a crucial component of Vedanta Aluminium’s innovative global corporate programme, Vedanta Spark. This programme acts as an accelerator and venture platform, enabling startups to leverage transformative technologies to create large-scale impact.

The CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, John Slaven, highlighted the value of India’s startup scene and said that his company, which is the country’s biggest aluminium manufacturer, supports the unwavering passion of these businesses. He emphasised the joint efforts for worldwide excellence, stressing that being digitally first and future-ready is essential to their path for exponential growth.

The founder and director of Glovision Techno Services, Raju Yadati, provided guidance on how to improve transportation and logistics while enhancing the safety of mining operations. ZestIOT’s Director of customer success, Himanshu Srivastava, commended Vedanta Aluminium for its mentorship, which improved precision and openness in crucial processes.

The company fosters an innovative culture through ‘Innovation Cafés,’ which serve as incubators for passion projects in which employees and partners work together to solve business challenges. The business also actively promotes micro- and rural-entrepreneurs in the areas where it operates, which helps MSMEs expand along the global value chain.
