Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle maker, in partnership with Tata International, has launched an advanced Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) named Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect in Pune. This state-of-the-art facility, operated by Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA), is equipped to dismantle 21,000 end-of-life vehicles annually, catering to both passenger and commercial vehicles across all brands.

The facility highlights environmentally friendly processes to extract maximum value from scrapped vehicles, aligning with India’s sustainability and circular economy goals. According to Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, Re.Wi.Re is a step towards transforming mobility by adopting advanced recycling technologies.

TIVA CEO Rajeev Batra emphasised that the facility is pivotal in establishing a sustainable and efficient vehicle lifecycle management ecosystem, supporting India’s transition to regulated vehicle recycling.

Digitalised and sustainable scrapping practices
Re.Wi.Re facilities, including five operational units in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Surat, Chandigarh, and Delhi NCR, ensure paperless operations. Vehicles are carefully dismantled in dedicated zones, covering components such as tyres, batteries, and liquids, complying with India’s vehicle scrappage policy.

Established in 2005, TIVA initially focused on manufacturing trailers for Tata Motors and has since grown into India’s largest trailer manufacturer, with facilities in Ajmer, Jamshedpur, and Pune. The company also caters to the open market and defence sector, delivering durable and high-performance trailers.
