Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited (SBPFL), a part of the $800-million Sona Group, has opened its latest manufacturing plant in Manesar, Haryana. This is Sona BLW’s third facility in India and the seventh globally, joining existing plants in Germany and Hungary. The new unit, which started production on 21 October 2024, focuses on driveline products and will boost the company’s production capacity by 30%.
The inauguration was attended by notable dignitaries, including D. K. Sethi, Executive Director at Maruti Suzuki India, and Rani Kapur, Chairperson of SBPFL. Managing Director Sunjay Kapur highlighted the company’s commitment to local sourcing, job creation, and delivering high-quality products to both domestic and international customers.
With an investment of INR 1,000 million over the next 2-3 years, the plant will generate 300 new jobs, further enhancing the company’s role in India’s industrial growth. This expansion aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, with Sona BLW contributing to the country’s economic development through advanced manufacturing techniques and exports.
Sona BLW’s clientele includes major automotive players such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra & Mahindra, and global firms like John Deere and American Axle. The company is recognised worldwide for its expertise in warm-forged bevel gears and high-quality standards. Recently, it was honoured with the Haryana State Export Award for excellence in exports, particularly in the engineering and automotive sectors.
