Dr. Peter Koerte, Member of the Managing Board and Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at Siemens AG.

Siemens AG predicts India to become its third or fourth largest market in three years due to robust infrastructure growth. Siemens AG’s CTO and Chief Strategy Officer, Peter Koerte, announced this at Siemens Innovation Day 2024. The firm presented new products, services, and partnerships to advance digitalisation and change in the industrial, infrastructural, and mobility contexts of India. Technical topic workshops involved industrial metaverse, generative AI in manufacturing, AI for data centres, sustainability technology and energy efficiency of infrastructure.

Organisations of all sizes can benefit from these advances as they will significantly enhance organisational performance, energy usage, and productivity. Specific products demonstrated include digital twins, IBN design for secure network planning, centrally managed connected devices enabling application deployment across large enterprises, seamless integration from the shop floor to the cloud, as well as Generative AI for predictive maintenance of systems. The corporation has 32 plants in India and currently 32,000 employees. Currently the company has ten thousand of its workers, who are software developers serving the company’s international divisions including the ones in India.

Technologies like industrial AI, digital twins, and the industrial metaverse as “catalysts for sustainable growth”. By combining these advanced technologies with India’s innovative spirit, manufacturing strength and software talent, they are witnessing the emergence of smarter factories, more efficient energy systems, and sustainable urban infrastructure, Peter Koerte said.
