Pure Storage has announced its strategic collaboration with Micron Technology. The partnership enables high-capacity and energy-efficient solutions for hyperscalers using Micron G9 QLC NAND for future DirectFlash® Module products. This collaboration builds on a ten-year effort to integrate Micron’s advanced NAND technology, which has progressed through seven generations. It qualifies Pure Storage’s 150TB DirectFlash solution for the Micron G8 QLC NAND technology.
Optimising data storage with performance and energy efficiency
The solution provides high-capacity, high-performance, low-latency data storage with simplified architecture and significant energy efficiency improvements. In modern data centres, three critical concerns factor into every storage solution: energy efficiency, storage density, and performance. Energy-efficient solutions are critical to managing operational expenses and the impact on the environment. As data centres grow, they remain space-constrained, making every square foot valuable.
Pure Storage and Micron lead a gold medalist strategy focused on total cost of ownership over traditional hard disk storage in the hyperscale segment. The integration offers better performance, reduced latency, environmentally friendly designs, and high-density and scalable designs. Bill Cerreta, General Manager at Pure Storage, highlighted the partnership with Micron as a major step in advancing all-flash technology for hyperscale markets. Micron’s latest NAND solutions and Pure Storage’s platforms provide data centre operators with innovative solutions for modern data centre demands.
