Premier Energies is strengthening its solar manufacturing capabilities with a major expansion in Telangana. With a strategic investment and government support, the company is set to increase solar cell and module production while diversifying into new regions to enhance efficiency and market reach.
Boosting solar capacity in Telangana
The company currently operates a 2 GW solar cell and 4.1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Telangana, employing around 5,000 people. Recognising the need for growth, the company is expanding with an additional 1 GW solar cell and 1 GW solar module capacity, backed by an Rs 800 crore investment.
The Telangana government has played a crucial role, allotting land and fast-tracking construction, with commissioning expected by Q1/FY26.

Expanding beyond Telangana
While Telangana remains a key hub, Premier Energies is expanding into Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh for logistical and operational benefits. The company is relocating its 4 GW cell line to Andhra Pradesh for better port access, ensuring efficient transportation of raw materials.
In Madhya Pradesh, it has secured 50 acres near Bhopal to cater to markets in MP, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
