ABB has launched its RB 1000i-S paint atomizer, designed to significantly enhance sustainability in automotive paint shops. By improving paint transfer efficiency by over 10%, it reduces waste by at least 30% compared to the previous model, the RB 1000i. This also cuts down carbon dioxide (CO2) and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, while reducing energy consumption in the painting process.
The new atomizer helps manufacturers working towards carbon neutrality by 2035, offering substantial cost savings. For instance, a factory producing 200,000 cars annually can save up to 50,000 litres of paint, equating to about $500,000 (₹4.16 crore).
ABB’s RB 1000i-S is available with new robots or as a service kit to upgrade existing systems, promoting the circular economy by extending the lifespan of older models. This development aligns with ABB’s commitment to sustainability and helping manufacturers meet their environmental goals.
