MG Motor India is set to broaden its presence in India’s Tier III and IV cities, with plans to establish 100 new touchpoints by the end of the current fiscal year. This expansion aims to stimulate the company’s growth and cater to diverse market needs. MG Motor will introduce specialised showrooms in these regions, offering vehicles with varied technologies such as electric, hybrid, and conventional engines.
Last month, the automaker announced a substantial investment of Rs 5,000 crore intending to sell one million electric passenger vehicles in India by 2030. This target aligns with the expected 10 million-unit annual market size. By the end of the 2024–25 fiscal year, MG Motor aims to have 520 sales and service touchpoints across 270 cities.
The company plans to increase its production capacity and introduce more models, focusing on research and development and localisation. Currently, MG Motor has around 380 touchpoints in approximately 170 cities. In addition to expanding its existing dealer network, the company intends to onboard new partners to strengthen its market presence and enhance consumer accessibility.
