Maruti Suzuki India has boosted its Manesar plant’s production capacity by 1 lakh units annually. The automaker integrated a new vehicle assembly line into Plant-A, one of the three operational manufacturing units at the Manesar location in Haryana. This addition boosts Manesar’s total production capability to 9 lakh vehicles per year.
Maruti Suzuki aims to nearly double its output to 4 million vehicles annually within the next 7-8 years, with this recent enhancement being a stride towards that target, as stated by MSI’s Managing Director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi. This expansion will enable quicker customer service and increase the overall manufacturing capacity to 23.5 lakh units per year.
Established in February 2007, the Manesar facility saw subsequent expansions with the introduction of Plant-B in 2011 and Plant-C in 2013. The Manesar plant currently produces models like Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio to meet growing customer demand.
