Mahindra Tractors has inaugurated the VEDIC-Mahindra Skill Development Centre at the Ordnance Factory in Ambajhari, Nagpur. The event was graced by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways. This centre is a joint effort between the Vidharbha Defence Industries Association (VDIA), Yantra India Ltd., and Mahindra Tractors.
The initiative focuses on providing skill development and on-job training for rural youth and women in the Vidharbha region. This aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on leveraging India’s demographic dividend through skill development.

Key dignitaries at the inauguration included Dinesh Rai, Founder Chairman of the Alliance of Indian MSMEs (AIM) & Former Secretary of MSME, GOI, Gurudutt Ray, officiating Chairman & Managing Director of Yantra India Ltd., and Nachiket Kodkani, Sr. VP at Mahindra Tractors. Vikram Wagh, CEO of Mahindra Tractors, highlighted the company’s commitment to creating career opportunities for rural youth and women.

Mahindra Tractors, celebrating 60 years in the domestic market and 40 lakh tractors sold, reinforces its dedication to rural prosperity through this initiative. The centre offers a curriculum covering tractor service, sales, and assembly, using modern technical equipment and expert trainers.
This initiative aims to empower rural youth with the skills needed for roles in dealership sales, service positions, and manufacturing assembly, contributing to the nation’s growth and community transformation.
