L&T bags big order for solar and energy storage facility, boosting green agenda

The initiative supports Bihar meet energy demand and sustain its renewable energy goals.

L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution division has bagged a huge order in the domestic market to build a 185MW Solar PV Plant in Kajra, Bihar, with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of 254MWh. This initiative supports Bihar’s renewable energy goals, enhancing sustainability and meeting energy demand growth.

The BESS will provide short-term energy storage for demand at times of high irradiance, frequency management, and voltage support, including a black start system for quick restoration of grid service following an outage.

L&T SVP-Renewable Strategic Business Group A Ravindran said that it has secured 18 GWp of renewable power generation projects and more than 1.5 GWh storage capacity experience which makes L&T one of the strategic global EPC partners.
