JS Auto Cast Foundry plans rs 67.5 cr investment to expand TN operations

This expansion creates 400 jobs, meets casting demand, and drives industrial growth in Tamil Nadu.

JS Auto Cast Foundry which is a Bharat Forge subsidiary, is set to invest Rs 67.5 crore to expand its foundry in Perundurai, Erode, Tamil Nadu. The investment aims to increase the production capacity of grey and SG iron castings by over 60 per cent, funded through internal accruals and debt.

To address the rising demand for high-quality castings in domestic and export markets, the foundry’s capacity will grow from 72,000 tonnes per year to 1,16,000 tonnes annually. The project involves installing new equipment, including three induction furnaces, sand-handling systems, and blasting machines. This expansion is expected to generate 200 direct jobs and another 200 indirect employment opportunities.

JS Auto operates three units in Tamil Nadu: the main foundry in Perundurai, a machining and dispatch facility in Kuppepalayam, and an SEZ unit acquired in 2023. Located at the SIPCOT Industrial Growth Centre, the Perundurai facility plays a key role in the company’s operations.

The company specialises in raw and machined ductile iron castings for global brands. It has submitted a pre-feasibility report for its expansion and is seeking environmental clearance. Bharat Forge fully acquired JS Auto Cast Foundry in 2022 through its subsidiary, BF Industrial Solutions.

This expansion aligns with JS Auto’s commitment to meet growing market demands while boosting local employment and industrial growth in Tamil Nadu.
