JK Tyre & Industries has been recognised with the Mahatma Award 2024 for its commitment to CSR excellence and social impact. The award was presented to Anil K Makkar, Group Chief Sustainability Officer and Manufacturing Director at JK Tyre, by Dr Kiran Bedi at a ceremony in New Delhi. The recognition highlights JK Tyre’s dedication to improving society through its various CSR programmes.
The company’s CSR initiatives cover key areas such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and water conservation. These efforts include providing scholarships, supporting Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), running adult literacy programmes, and offering skill development initiatives. JK Tyre also focuses on healthcare, reproductive health, and supporting self-help groups, aiming to uplift underprivileged communities.

The Mahatma Award, inspired by the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, celebrates organisations that contribute to positive social change. Instituted by the Mahatma Foundation, in partnership with the Aditya Birla Group and Liveweek Group, the award honours organisations in the private, public, and development sectors that demonstrate responsible and impactful CSR practices.
