Jakson Green achieves milestone in methanol production from CO2

Jakson Green has completed six notable Power-to-X projects.

In partnership with NTPC, Jakson Green has accomplished a significant milestone by effectively producing methanol from collected carbon dioxide. This project is situated in Madhya Pradesh, India, near the Vindhyachal Thermal Power Plant owned by NTPC. The technology, which was designed and invented by Netra, NTPC Limited’s research and development centre, captures CO2 directly from flue gas emissions and converts it to methanol utilised in vehicles and electricity production.

Bikesh Ogra, CEO and Managing Director of Jakson Green Private Limited, commented on this outstanding accomplishment, saying that it is especially noteworthy because it is the first time that methanol has been produced from captured carbon and will also be the first green molecule project in India to be commissioned.

As the EPC contractor, they are proud to have led the engineering, procurement, and construction of this historic project on a turnkey basis in collaboration with NTPC & their technology provider, said E.K.S. Sreekumar, Head of Strategy at Jakson Green Private Limited, following the successful production of the first few drops of methanol.

Leading the way in innovative energy solutions, Jakson Green has completed six notable Power-to-X projects, including two more for NTPC: the world’s first CO2-to-4G ethanol plant and India’s first green hydrogen refueling station for urban transportation. The business is still dedicated to working with NTPC on all of their innovative projects that will help to create a sustainable future.
