IIT Kanpur’s Technopark@IITK has welcomed RMV Group of Companies as its first Kanpur-based resident partner, marking a strategic collaboration to drive advancements in high-end manufacturing across defence, firearms, and automotive technology. As part of this new agreement, three RMV Group companies, Capital Airgun Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, RMV Machines and Tools Industry, and RVB Shorlube Pvt Ltd, will set up their offices and research and development facilities at Technopark at IITK.
The official partnership was signed by Prof Amarendra Singh, Technopark’s Professor-In-Charge, and Rajesh Bhatia, Managing Director of RMV Group, with several notable attendees. Prof Singh highlighted the importance of this partnership as Technopark@IITK’s inaugural venture in materials and manufacturing, aligning with IIT Kanpur’s commitment to promoting innovation-driven companies.
RMV Group, a significant contributor to precision manufacturing for global OEMs and the Indian defence sector, plans to leverage IIT Kanpur’s research infrastructure. The group aims to make advancements in the defence, automotive, and machine tool sectors, with plans to establish a NABL-certified lab. This collaboration will enhance India’s self-reliance in precision manufacturing and strengthen RMV’s active R&D partnership with IIT Kanpur, advancing the shared vision for innovation of both institutions.
