Husky and Kriya launch India’s first ICHOR™ medical system for blood collection tubes

Husky Technologies™ and Kriya Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd. have achieved a significant milestone with the deployment of India’s first ICHOR™ integrated medical system. This collaboration marks a new chapter for Kriya’s Chennai facility, which will now produce both 13×100 and 13x75mm blood collection tubes. The inauguration event, held on 18 September 2024, was attended by Anu Moturi, Kriya’s Founder and CEO, as well as Husky’s executive medical team. The ceremony also saw the presence of key government representatives, including the Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The introduction of Husky’s ICHOR™ system is an important step in Kriya’s strategy to transition from a regional player to a global market contender. The system, designed to produce up to 250 million tubes per year with a cycle time of under 5.5 seconds, is currently the fastest on the market. Kriya’s investment in this project, alongside Husky’s innovative technology and comprehensive service agreement, reflects their ambition to supply premium-quality blood collection tubes on both local and international scales.

The partnership between Husky and Kriya focuses on ensuring a cost-effective, stable production of high-quality parts. The collaboration covered key aspects of system integration, including selecting materials, defining the injection solution, and optimising performance. Husky’s support through the Advantage+Elite™ service agreement offers Kriya 24/7 expert assistance and real-time monitoring to ensure consistent production reliability and quality.

The ICHOR™ system represents a major advancement in medical manufacturing, offering high productivity, precision, and efficiency. Built on Husky’s proven PET technology, the system includes integrated robots, a unified control system, and an advanced hot runner. It delivers high-precision parts with faster production times, extended mold life, and reduced waste, ensuring customers like Kriya can maintain superior performance at every production stage.
