Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched a new engine assembly line at its Global Resource Factory in Manesar, Haryana, focusing on Completely Knocked Down (CKD) exports. The line can produce 60 engines daily, catering to models ranging from 1100 cc to 300 cc.
Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President, and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, expressed that this addition reflects the company’s commitment to technological advancement and aims to enhance its export capabilities, expanding into new markets while maintaining global quality standards.
HMSI currently exports to 58 markets worldwide, including Europe, Central and Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and SAARC nations.
In March, the company reported significant year-on-year growth in domestic wholesales, with a jump of 81 per cent to 3,58,151 units from 1,97,542 units in March 2023. Exports also saw a 95 per cent increase, rising to 28,304 units from 14,460 units in March 2023. Overall sales for the month reached 3,86,455 units, an increase from 2,12,002 units in March last year.
