TRUMPF, the high-technology company, is embarking on a significant expansion in India with the inauguration of a new production facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The strategically chosen location aligns with the company’s commitment to efficiently cater to the burgeoning Indian market while fostering global synergies.
Till Kueppers, Chief Operating Officer at TRUMPF Machine Tools in Germany emphasises the advantages of having a local presence. He asserts that India is experiencing strong development and continues to offer expansion opportunities. Being near this expanding market helps us produce more effectively and meet customer needs faster. He stresses the need to personalise solutions for the Indian market while utilising global synergies. Long-term goals include serving other markets in India and increasing the supply chain. Later this year, the company will start production at the new production site after investing over four million Euros.
TRUMPF India Managing Director Pradeep Patil sees the investment as the first stage in a holistic growth plan, emphasising customer benefits including product quality, customer proximity, and adaptability. The Pune factory would first manufacture TruBend Series 1000 Basic Edition bending machines and launch TruLaser cutting by 2025. Patil emphasises using India’s talent and machine-building ability to deliver the company’s quality locally.
The expansion offers the sheet metal business in India a unique value proposition, according to TRUMPF India Director of Sales Mohammed Hidayath. He expects consumer confidence to invest in the company’s machines to boost growth and attract new enterprises.
In pursuit of growth, the company is augmenting its support infrastructure through the establishment of a showroom in Bengaluru, which is projected to go into operation within the current year. This enhancement enhances consumer value-added services. In addition, the company’s Chennai-based software research and development facility positions the company favourably to offer comprehensive solutions to its Indian customers.
