Grew Energy Private Limited, a solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing company in India, has inked a deal with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay). This partnership plan has the goal of enhancing new and improved photovoltaic research in the areas of solar cell and module production, as well as efficiency and stability testing.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IIT Bombay and Grew Energy sets the stage for a dynamic collaboration to drive technological advancements in the photovoltaic sector through joint initiatives in knowledge management, continuing education programs, and technology development.
This collaboration comprises consultancy and research activities where the two parties carry out mutually outlined projects to solve key challenges facing the industry and come up with innovative solutions. The partnership will also entail internship, licensing of intellectual property and research projects. A symbiotic relationship will be developed to support critical sectors, including production, assessment, reliability, and training in preparation for the growth of renewable systems in India.
According to Vinay Thadani, Director & CEO of Grew Energy, they have now set the foundation for developing the future of photovoltaic technology with the support of IIT Bombay’s scholarly research and complementary to Grew Energy’s industry experience to enhance the Solar Photovoltaic power generation in India.
Prof. Upendra Bhandarkar, IIT Bombay, Associate Dean R&D said that partnering with Grew Energy will help them take a positive translation of their research to solve contextual problems, propelling India’s renewable energy sector.
Prof. Anil Kottantharayil, Professor In-Charge, Photovoltaic Technology and Innovation Centre (PoTIC), IIT Bombay, pointed out that their engagement shows willingness to boost the technological readiness of the PV manufacturing industry in the country.
