Greenzo Energy to partner with EODev to introduce hydrogen fuel cell power units in India

Greenzo Energy will sell EODev’s zero-emission generators and offer maintenance services.

Greenzo Energy India (GEIL) will collaborate with Energy Observer Developments (EODev) of France to bring hydrogen fuel cell power units to India. Greenzo Energy will sell EODev’s zero-emission generators and offer maintenance services as an alkaline electrolyser producer. In addition to being an original equipment manufacturer and strategic partner for the firm, the 20-year collaboration will include opportunities for GEIL to assemble EODev products locally.

According to Sandeep Agarwal, the company’s founder and managing director the collaboration is aimed at introducing Toyota fuel cell power hydrogen generators to South Asia. Hydrogen’s chemical energy is used by hydrogen fuel cell generators to produce water and power. They are a zero-emission substitute for fossil fuel-based power sources like diesel generators, which are now employed in data centers, telecom towers, micropower grids, transportation, and agriculture.

With infrastructure like data centers, telecom towers, and microgrids that operate diesel generators, India’s hydrogen generator industry is expected to grow to a value of around $20 million in the future. In the telecom industry alone, there are almost 80 lakh generators. To cut pollution, the government wants businesses to switch from these generators to hydrogen generators. The corporations would invest about Rs 200 crore to build up the facility, and that amount will rise to Rs 1,000 crore in two years, according to Agarwal.
