The Chemicals Business of Godrej Industries stated that it has signed a business transfer agreement with Savannah Surfactants Ltd in order to purchase their Food Ester and Emulsifier Business. The firm, which is a major participant in the biotech, oleochemicals, surfactants, and specialities sectors, will benefit from this deal by being able to provide more products in the food and beverage segment.
The purchase of this Food Ester and Emulsifier Business unit would help them expand the speciality chemicals business in accordance with the business plan, stated Vishal Sharma, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Godrej Industries (Chemicals). Savannah Surfactants Ltd, which is based in Goa, can produce 5,200 MTPA of final goods.
