Godrej & Boyce which is a part of the Godrej Enterprises Group has recently successfully completed a 25MW AC ground-mounted solar project in Dhule, Maharashtra, for the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd.
This solar plant, which is spread out over 52 hectares, is expected to generate 45 million units of electricity each year. It will sell electricity on the open market and make a big difference in Maharashtra’s goals for green energy.
Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head of Electricals & Electronics at Godrej & Boyce, emphasized India’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy by 2030, as outlined in the COP26 Panchamrit initiative. He noted that this project aligns with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and showcases their commitment to developing customised, efficient solutions tailored to specific project challenges.
Innovative engineering solutions were implemented to navigate the challenges posed by the undulated land and hard soil strata, featuring custom-designed structures that enhance wind resistance and efficiency.
This project not only boosts Mahagenco’s total capacity to 428.02 MW but also highlights the technological advancements of Godrej & Boyce in managing complex solar installations.
