Freudenberg Group has expanded its operations in India by inauguring two cutting-edge manufacturing plants in Morinda, Punjab. Covering 40,700 sq m, the facilities, operated by Freudenberg-NOK India Pvt Ltd and Vibracoustic India, consolidate operations from Basma and Mohali to boost production efficiency.
This expansion is part of Freudenberg’s €42 million investment, the company’s largest in India, reflecting its commitment to the “Make in India” initiative. The new plants cater to automotive and industrial sectors, serving both domestic and international markets.
Freudenberg CEO, Dr Mohsen Sohi, emphasised the expansion aligns with the company’s global strategy while celebrating 175 years of innovation. The plants incorporate sustainable practices, including energy-efficient machinery and photovoltaic cells.
Freudenberg plans to increase the local workforce by 20 per cent, creating 200 new jobs. Sivasailam G, Managing Director, highlighted the long-term commitment to nurturing local talent and driving sustainable growth. The Morinda site will also serve as a global engineering hub, attracting top talent from regional universities.
Freudenberg continues to uphold its legacy, operating in 40 market segments across 60 countries with €12 billion in sales.
