Eaton has inaugurated its 120,000 square feet electrical manufacturing facility in Puducherry, India. It has a shop floor of 100,000 sq ft specifically manufactured for power distribution product lines and 20,000 sq ft for utilities and infrastructural support. This expansion reflects a new step in the comprehensive journey that Eaton has planned for improving manufacturing expertise, localisation, and community impact.
It is expected that this facility will enhance the manufacturing capability of Eaton’s power distribution assembly lines by at least 2X while producing important products such as ACBs, MCCBs, and Fuses needed across industries like Data centres, industrial constructions, buildings, among other projects from the Utility sector.
Syed Sajjadh Ali, the Managing Director at Eaton, said that the expansion of the new facility was a testament to Eaton’s commitment to innovation and operational efficiency as well as to its long-term plan for the country of India. The reallocation of the facility includes the consolidation of a central warehouse that stores all of Eaton’s Power Distribution products and a newly created R&D centre, enabling improved organisation and quicker delivery to customers all across India.
