Drydocks World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) to develop ship repair clusters in India. The MoU aims to bring global best practices to the ship repair ecosystem in the country and add significant capacities. The collaboration also provides for cooperation in offshore fabrication opportunities, engaging other entities like major ports.

The collaboration will be essential to modernising India’s marine infrastructure, growing the ship repair sector, and creating new job opportunities. The businesses will jointly explore setting up world-class ship repair clusters in Kochi and Vadinar, aligning with India’s Maritime Vision 2030 and 2047 goals.

Expanding partnerships

Drydocks World and Cochin Shipyard Limited will collaborate with government agencies, including major ports, to enhance ship maintenance and offshore fabrication capacities. They also plan to expand cooperation into related fields such as offshore fabrication, maritime engineering, and strategic infrastructure development.
