DENSO and ROHM signal strategic semiconductor partnership talks

The partnership accelerates the development of high-efficiency semiconductors that enhance vehicle intelligence, safety, and sustainability.

DENSO Corporation and ROHM Co Ltd have agreed to explore a strategic partnership in the semiconductor field. This is to meet the rising demand for electric vehicle components and help the world become carbon-neutral.

As electric vehicles and technologies like automated driving become more popular, automotive systems need more reliable semiconductors.

Both companies, having collaborated on semiconductor development for years, are now looking to strengthen their partnership to ensure a stable supply of high-quality semiconductors.

DENSO views semiconductors as critical for next-generation vehicle systems. The company plans to acquire some of ROHM’s shares to deepen their collaboration.

ROHM, known for its expertise in analogue semiconductors, power devices, and mass production, is poised to enhance its cooperation with DENSO.

The partnership aims to accelerate the development of high-efficiency semiconductors that contribute to vehicle intelligence, safety, and sustainability.

Both DENSO’s President, Shinnosuke Hayashi, and ROHM’s President, Isao Matsumoto, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in achieving carbon neutrality and advancing sustainable automotive technologies.
