The Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) has announced its new National Committee for a three-year term. The committee is led by Prasanna Patwardhan as National President, A. Prasanna Patwardhan, re-elected as National President, expressed gratitude for the trust and focused on the need for the passenger transport sector to adapt to changing mobility needs. He highlighted the importance of public transport in supporting sustainable and inclusive mobility as part of India’s vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). Under his leadership, BOCI aims to improve public transport accessibility, efficiency, and last-mile connectivity.
Looking ahead, BOCI’s focus will include driving innovation, fostering global partnerships, and addressing challenges such as regulatory issues, taxation, and infrastructure development. A major priority will be promoting sustainable transport solutions, such as electric vehicles (EVs), and enhancing last-mile connectivity to create a more efficient and resilient transport ecosystem.
Founded in 2016, BOCI has been working to resolve challenges in the passenger transport sector and advocate for policies that support growth and innovation.
