Avaada Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan Government to develop a 1200 MW Pumped Storage Project. The Kadambari Green-field initiative is to establish a 1200 MW Kadambari PSP in the Sirohi district; estimated to incur Rs 5,800 crore over the next five to Seven years. This investment is but a part of Avaada’s investment plans for Rajasthan which includes Green Ammonia Project-1 MTPA, Wind Power Project- 1 GW, Solar Power Project –10 GW . These endeavours will work towards job creations, promoting green manufacturing and supporting India towards achieving its renewable energy targets.
The state’s commitment to renewable energy sources reflects its proactive approach to fostering sustainable development and economic growth. The Chairman of Avaada Group, Vineet Mittal, said the current MOU is a big leap towards fulfilling its aim to provide excellent renewable energy services. The project will not only supply Round the Clock (RTC) power from renewable sources but also stabilise the electricity grid by adding more solar and wind mechanisms.
Rajasthan ranks second in India with 28,617 MW of installed renewable energy capacity. Pumped storage projects (PSPs) provide an agile storage solution by capturing additional solar energy generated during the day and releasing this when demand is high, or during the evenings. PSPs in Rajasthan will continue to support India’s vision of achieving the target of 500 GW of renewable energy installed capacity and enhancing the state’s position in the energy transformation.
