Atmus Filtration Technologies has established a technical center in Pune, Maharashtra, to promote innovation in the commercial vehicle industry. The global commercial vehicle market is evolving, and the center is expected to develop its capacity in order to address new challenges and to provide support for research and development purposes.
The facility incorporates modern test labs that are designed specifically to adequately challenge and assess filtering prototypes and products. It also ensures strict compliance with the set Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and ISO standards that exist within the industry.
A wide spectrum of tests is available in the facility, such as hard environment, which includes harsh environmental settings such as low and high temperatures, difficulty in retaining dust and water, as well as life-cycle performance. The Multipass Test (ISO 4548-12 and ISO-19438) is one of the specialised testing techniques used to assess the effectiveness of pollutant removal. The center also conducts other tests, including the Air Filter Efficiency and Capacity Test (ISO 5011) and the Water Removal Efficiency Test (SAE J1488).
