Ather has begun to deliver its Rizta family scooter a few weeks after production began. The Rizta uses the same battery, main frame, motor, displays, and switchgear as the sporty and tech-laden 450 models but has been re-engineered for broader appeal.
Deliveries are presently taking place throughout Andhra Pradesh, including Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, and Nagpur. Ather promised that soon other places will follow.
The Rizta is significant for Ather because the company has lost its domination of the third position in the market owing to a decrease in monthly EV sales. By making this practical and cost-effective e-scooter, Ather plans to regain its marketplace and directly compete with Bajaj Chetak, which recently added a variant that costs less than Rs 1 lakh.
