Allcargo Group has launched its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) 2023-2024 report, which focuses on reaching carbon neutrality by 2040 through sustainable practices. The Group’s dedication to generating enduring value for stakeholders, the environment, and people is highlighted in the report. Some of the key ESG objectives outlined in the document are energy and emissions, occupational health and safety, diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI), community development, labor practices and human rights, cybersecurity, and corporate governance.
Shashi Kiran Shetty, the founder and chairman of Allcargo Group, said that the report highlights advancements in three key areas: governance (fortifying ethical practices, sustainable supply chain management, and data security); social (ensuring employee safety, diversity, equity, and inclusivity, while driving community impact); and environment (renewable energy transitions).
As its long term targets, India is committed to realising net zero emission by 2070 with a target to reduce emission intensity of GDP by 45 per cent by 2030 from the level of 2005. Some of which include the company’s sustainable efforts such as alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), contributing to the UN-Habitat Sustainable Development Goals; Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Life below Water.
Implementing sustainability measures and streamlining end-to-end shipping transactions will be made possible in large part by ECU Worldwide’s digital platform, ECU360. Allcargo Group’s dedication to sustainable growth and ethical business practices is evidenced by the nearly fourfold improvement in the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score for FY 2023.
The Group is also reducing carbon emission through the deployment of electric Material Handling Equipment (MHEs) and renewables such as increasing the use of solar, eliminating non-electric MHEs in warehouses, and sustainable marine transportation solutions. Allcargo Group Information Technology systems and information are ISO 27001;2022 compliant to ensure that they are properly and legally protecting the personal information of the company’s clients.
