Allcargo Gati enhances capacity operations and workforce ahead of festive season

It has also done a lot to expand its last mile delivery with an aim of elevating the processing and delivery of orders.

Allcargo Gati Limited, a prominent Express Distribution and Supply Chain Management company in India is expecting a significant increase in the shipment in the upcoming festive season. The company has further developed its supply chain management which includes investing in more technologies and employment of additional human resources in its sortation and delivery centres. It has also done a lot to expand its last mile delivery with an aim of elevating the processing and delivery of orders.

According to  Sandeep Kulkarni – Chief Operating Officer (COO)- Allcargo Gati Limited, they expect the festive season demand to reach higher peaks this year on the back of positive consumer sentiment. To meet the growing demand, they have enhanced their operational capabilities with an outlook to further bolster it in line with the demand growth.

The company has collaborated with multinational brands and major e-commerce players, launching last mile delivery operations for e-commerce giants in Maharashtra and West Bengal. The company runs 15 mother hub Sorting centres for its ecommerce customers, which are operationally optimised and capable of delivering more than capacity during the festive season.

The company has added six more manpower supply services to its pool of staffing solutions providers to meet the surge in order processing and delivery demand. It plans to hire over 3000 people in multiple operational roles and intensify hiring in sync with the growth in demand.

Allcargo Gati has strengthened capacity, productivity, and efficiency at its sorting and fulfilment centres by setting up double deep racking, conveyors, advanced hand-held terminals, and adopting data-driven route-optimisation solutions to ensure faster last mile deliveries. The company has 1.48 lakh sq. ft. mega state-of-the-art and tech-enabled Surface Transhipment Centre and Distribution Warehouse (STCDW) at Bhiwandi, 1.5 lakh sq ft. STC at Farukh Nagar, and STCs in Indore, Nagpur, Guwahati, and Bengaluru.
